Troubleshooting and FAQ
Quick fixes for the most common questions.
Tracking
Check that the data-site key matches the one in Settings → API / MCP → Site keys, that the snippet is on the page you visited (view the page source and search for t.js), and that your own ad blocker isn't blocking it. Visits from bots, crawlers and headless browsers are ignored on purpose.
Each tool filters bots and counts sessions differently, and ad blockers block some tools more than others. Expect the totals to be close, not identical. AI referrals are often higher in StatSip because it recognises more assistants.
Yes. The script records a page view whenever the URL changes, including client-side navigation in React, Next.js, Vue and similar.
Prompts and visibility
Every day at 06:00 UTC on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude. Use Run all prompts or Run this prompt now on the Prompts page to check straight away.
StatSip looks for your brand name and domain. On Competitors, set your brand the way assistants write it (for example “Acme CRM” instead of “acme”).
Hover it to see why. Usually an assistant was briefly unavailable; it's retried in the next daily check.
Answers vary with wording, location, history and model version. StatSip asks in a clean session every day, so trends over a week are more reliable than any single answer.
API
403 means the token lacks the permission the endpoint needs. 404 means the site id is wrong or the token was limited to other websites. Create a new token with the right access.
Tokens are shown only once. Revoke the old one in Your tokens and create a new one.
