How much is AI search visibility worth? Putting a dollar figure on it

Mention counts do not pay the bills. Here is a simple way to measure the revenue AI search sends you, and decide which prompts are worth fighting for.

Most AI visibility reports stop at mentions: you appeared in 42% of answers, up from 35%. That is useful, but it does not tell you whether to spend another month on it. To make AI search a real channel, you need a dollar figure.

The chain from answer to revenue

  • Visibility: are you in the answer for prompts your buyers ask?
  • Traffic: do people click through from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or AI Overviews?
  • Conversion: do those visitors sign up or buy?
  • Revenue: how much do those customers pay?

Each step is measurable. The trick is connecting them, which most stacks cannot do because prompt tracking, web analytics and payments live in three different tools.

A simple model

Take your AI search revenue for the last 30 days and divide it by the number of tracked prompts where you are visible. That gives a rough revenue per winning prompt. If it is $300 and you are losing 20 prompts to competitors, winning half of them is worth about $3,000 a month. Now you can compare that with what the work costs.

What to do with the number

  • Rank prompts by the revenue of the pages they send people to, not by volume.
  • Spend effort on prompts where you sit in position 2 to 4, which are the easiest to move.
  • Report AI search next to organic and paid, in the same currency.

StatSip is built for exactly this: prompt tracking, AI traffic and revenue attribution in one place.
